HI, Iā€™M JEN MITCHELL

I am an active member of the ILM, the Association for Coaching, the EMCC UK and the Chartered College of Teaching. I am also proud to be a Qualified Adult Mental Health First Aider.

My journey to the world of parental/family support and coaching follows a long and successful career in education, with 13 years in senior leadership and 7 years as a primary headteacher and principal; this has included time spent volunteering as a school governor alongside my work commitments. I have also worked with local authorities and other professionals to provide support for other senior leaders.

I have a proven track record of improving organisational performance and delivering positive beneficial outcomes in all roles throughout my professional career. Throughout my career, a centred approach has underpinned all my decision making; I understand only too well how the needs of individual children can become sidelined in these days of diminishing school and local authority budgets. Working with parents to create individual pathways and support plans has helped countless children and families.

My passion for supporting and developing children and parents has now led me to a career in coaching and consulting.

My own professional development is important and I keep up to date with current developments in the education system. I have up to date safeguarding training and a current DBS certificate.

On a personal level, I am to be found outdoors whenever possible; walking our two dogs, running, or open water swimming. I am lucky to be a mum to four grown-up daughters in our wonderful, blended family.
